BlackBerry Pearl 8100 Take-Apart

Notes:

Warning: Disassembling your BlackBerry voids your warranty

Tools:

You will require a small flat-head screwdriver

You will require a Torx-6 (T6) screwdriver – You can get a whole set of Torx drivers on Amazon for under $10 here: SE 6 Piece Delux Torx Driver Kit w/Storage Case T5-T10

Take Apart:

  1. Using a small flathead screwdriver, pry off the microphone cover. Do this from the front of the BlackBerry, if you start from the back you may damage the antenna
    Removing the microphone cover
  2. Using a Torx-6 (T6) Driver remove the screws (circled in red) that were hidden by the microphone cover
    Remove the front screws
  3. Using a Torx-6 (T6) Driver remove the screws (circled in red) that were visible under the battery cover
    Remove the back screws
  4. Carefully using a fingernail (or thin plastic tool to avoid damage) pry the sides off
    Remove the sides
  5. Carefully using a fingernail (or thin tool) unclip the back panel, there are two clips per side
    Remove the back panel
  6. Carefully remove the main-board from the front panel
    Remove the main-board

That’s all there is to it, to reassemble follow the steps backwards.
