Creating a Title Page in LibreOffice Writer from Document Properties

  1. On the title page we want to have the title and subject, author name, and date in the month name, day, year format.

    To do this, we're going to use the Insert Fields function which can be found in the Insert menu:

  2. To add the title:
    1. Click Insert in the menu
    2. Click Fields
    3. Click Title
    4. Go to a new line
  3. To add the subject:
    1. Click Insert in the menu
    2. Click Fields
    3. Click Subject
    4. Go to a new line
  4. To add the author:
    1. Click Insert in the menu
    2. Click Fields
    3. Click Author
    4. Go to a new line
  5. To add the date:
    1. Click Insert in the menu
    2. Click Fields
    3. Click Other
    4. In the Document tab:

      LibreOffice Writer - Date Fields

      1. Under Type, click Date
      2. Under Select, click Date (fixed)
      3. Under Format: Select December 31, 1999
      4. Click Insert (only once)
      5. Click Close
  6. We now have our basic title page, it should look like:
