Published: Andreas Wiebe, 02 April 2010 - 21:45

Overview

In MS PowerPoint 2007 it's possible to have a audio clip play across slides throughout the presentation, this quick how-to illustrates how this is done.

Adding an audio clip that plays across slides

  1. On the first slide that you want the audio to start, click "Insert" on the ribbon then click "Media Clips":

  2. Select "Sound" then "Sound from File..." in the drop-down:

  3. The Insert Sound dialog will appear, select your file then click "OK"

  4. A dialog will appear asking how you want the sound to start in the slide show, click "Automatically" to have the audio start when the slide is displayed:

  5. With the sound icon selected (picture of a speaker on your slide), click "Options" in the ribbon, then click the drop-down beside "Play Sound:" and select "Play across slides":

  6. Note that if your sound file is larger than 132KB you will need to include it with your presentation as a seperate file unless you adjust the Max Sound File Size:
