In MS PowerPoint 2007 it's possible to have a audio clip play across slides throughout the presentation, this quick how-to illustrates how this is done.
On the first slide that you want the audio to start, click "Insert" on the ribbon then click "Media Clips":

Select "Sound" then "Sound from File..." in the drop-down:

The Insert Sound dialog will appear, select your file then click "OK"
A dialog will appear asking how you want the sound to start in the slide show, click "Automatically" to have the audio start when the slide is displayed:

With the sound icon selected (picture of a speaker on your slide), click "Options" in the ribbon, then click the drop-down beside "Play Sound:" and select "Play across slides":

Note that if your sound file is larger than 132KB you will need to include it with your presentation as a seperate file unless you adjust the Max Sound File Size:
